It’s been a while since we posted some construction photos of our Boat Bay House. There’s been a lot of progress as the project is nearing completion. In addition to noticing the changes in the house, you might want to pay attention to the changes in the landscaping. The owners transplanted a number of large trees to the site, so the gardens are looking instantly great. None of this sitting around and waiting for trees to grow…
Beautiful as always…you guys really do fab work always – can’t wait to see it when it’s complete!
Thanks. This one has been in the works for a long time, so we’re really happy to see it getting close.
I really like the look of the thin vertical siding – any chance you’d share what it is/how it is treated? Is it a rainscreen? Enjoy your work! Thanks…
Glad you like it. The siding is a rainscreen of stained 1×2 cedar over horizontal Cor-A-Vent sleepers over Vaproshield. You can also see some more photos of the project on the Boat Bay House portfolio page.
I love the deck. What is it made of (Decking)(Rail) and what keeps it structurally sound (steel beams on sides, but what else)
Glad you like it. The structure is pressure treated wood with galvanized steel columns. The railing is made of galvanized stanchions with stainless steel cables. The decking (& fascia & underside finish) is Garapa.
There are better photos of the finished deck on the project’s potfolio page: Boat Bay House
