The project has since gone through the phases of design development, construction documents, permits, bidding & negotiation, and is just about through construction (by DLH Inc.). As always, we are looking forward to a lengthy and happy “owner occupancy” phase.

For a play by play account of the construction process, you can visit the Enatai Remodel Project Blog. We also plan on adding the project to our online portfolio as soon as we get some good photos. Feel free to <a href="../feed"target="_blank">subscribe to our updates to be notified as soon as we do.

Boat Bay House 08.03.11

Project Updates

http://eggfarkarch.com/boat-bay-house-08-03-11

http://eggfarkarch.com/boat-bay-house-08-03-11

It’s been a while since we posted some construction photos of our Boat Bay House. There’s been a lot of progress as the project is nearing completion. In addition to noticing the changes in the house, you might want to pay attention to the changes in the landscaping. The owners transplanted a number of large trees to the site, so the gardens are looking instantly great. None of this sitting around and waiting for trees to grow…

Boat Bay House 02.02.11

Project Updates

http://eggfarkarch.com/boat-bay-house-02-02-11

http://eggfarkarch.com/boat-bay-house-02-02-11

Now that we’ve posted construction photos of the Windermere House, it’s only fair that we do the same for the Boat Bay House. Given the tight quarters of its hillside site, this is a hard project to photograph. The south elevation shown in the photos doesn’t give a full sense of the project, but it will have to do….

Windermere House 01.31.11

Project Updates

http://eggfarkarch.com/windermere-house-01-31-11

http://eggfarkarch.com/windermere-house-01-31-11

We never got around to posting design process drawings of our Windermere House. It is well into construction (framing complete, electrical & plumbing rough-in in progress) so we figured it’s about time to show some construction photos. This is only a small taste of the project, and we’re looking forward to offering a full serving of images when the house is completed.

PreMoCoMo: the Prefab Modern Coop Movement

Project Updates

http://eggfarkarch.com/prefab-modern-coop

http://eggfarkarch.com/prefab-modern-coop

While we try to maintain a timeless and essential quality in our designs, we do keep an eye on what’s going on around us. Some of the trends we’ve been noticing are prefab (modular) construction, modern design, and urban farming. Not willing to sit on the sidelines while the hippest things pass us by, we figured we could hop on all three bandwagons at once with our design of MeadowCoop – a prefab modern chicken coop. Our position at the vanguard of the Prefab Modern Coop Movement (PreMoCoMo) has been duly noted, as this project is featured in the latest issue of Residential Architect magazine.

MeadowCoop is home to some very happy chickens who keep the owners of our Meadow Creek House supplied with fresh eggs, entertainment, and fertilizer for their magnificent garden. The coop was prefabricated by Matt Deschler at Portland’s Formed Objects, then trucked to and erected in Seattle on a single day. Matt has built steel furniture and architectural elements for many of our projects, we’d recommend his work to anyone, and we’re glad he was willing to take this one on.

MeadowCoop was a great project to work on. We got to learn about chickens (who knew they want separate places to sleep and lay eggs?) and had fun with the design. We’re always looking for interesting and unusual new projects. Anyone out there need a minimalist beehive with a green roof?

HFACM Design Update 08.05.10

Project Updates

http://eggfarkarch.com/hfacm-design-update-08-05-10

http://eggfarkarch.com/hfacm-design-update-08-05-10

Before we share construction photos of this house in Eugene, Oregon, we wanted to show what our final (more or less) design looks like. We’re very happy with the way things turned out, and given the speed at which it’s being built, it shouldn’t take too long to see what the final result will be. We’ll do our best to add some construction photos soon.
